SIMUTIL ======= SimUtil is a cross platform, command line utility to load or save the mobile SIM card phonebook. Features -------- - Display the entire or part of the phone-book. - Edit the phone-book entry by entry. - Save the entire or part of the phone-book. - Load the entire or part of the phone-book. Requirements ------------ - A supported target/compiler: Linux 2.6.x, gcc 3.4 or 4.x Win32, Mingw gcc 4.2 Win32, Microsoft Visual C++ 32-bit DOS, DJGPP gcc 4.0 - A Phoenix or SmartMouse compatible card reader Building -------- - Extracct the source into an empty directory. - For Linux/Mingw and DJGPP open a command shell and type make. - For Microsoft Visual C++, open the project file and then perform a build all. Execution --------- simutil [options] [filename] -W : Write phonebook from filename (stdin) -r : Read phonebook and save to filename (stdout) *** -f : First phonebook entry -n : Number of phonebook entries -D : Card reader device -c : Clock frequency (Hz) -i : Invert card detect sense -t : Decrease verbosity of output -v : Increase verbosity of output -h : Help To interactively edit a phonebook first insert the SIM in the card reader and then execute: simutul -W If the card and reader are OK, the 1st phonebook entry will be displayed and you will be prompted: 1 +441234567890 Home Enter number name ([q]uit, [ ]erase, []skip): Press to keep the current entry and move on to the next. Press followed by to blank the entry. Press q followed by to quit. Enter a number and name e.g.: 911 Emergency NB some low numbered phonebook entries are protected by PIN2, set by the network operator. To change these you will need to know that PIN and use the scutil program available from www.softsystem.co.uk/products/scutil
